How to Have a Stress Free Road Trip With a 2 Year Old
This weekend we are going to be taking a mini Road Trip, so I put together a small activity box for Brayden. Having things for Bray to do independently during a long car ride is essential to all of our happiness on the journey.
Here’s What’s Inside:
Magnetic Chalkboard Cookie Sheet: Get a cheap cookie sheet from the dollar store and chalkboard spray paint. Just spray it all over and let it sit overnight and BOOM, you have a super cheap and multi purpose chalkboard. You can use this with magnetic letters, chalk, or even a tray for snack time and coloring.
Pom Pom Ball Drop: We got a bag of pom pom balls from the craft store and paired it with an empty water bottle. This is so simple and keeps Brayden occupied for the longest time!
Crayola Color Wonder Stow and Go: I love the idea of coloring but the thought of Brayden drawling all over the backseat makes my palms sweat. However, Crayola has these awesome coloring books that come with markers that only show up on their special paper. Making it the perfect combo for a car activity.
Pipe Cleaners in a Bottle: I just got a small bag of pipe cleaners and an empty sprinkles container (you can also use a seasoning container too). It is great for hand eye coordination and keeps little ones busy.
Window Markers: is a fun way to keep kiddos busy and is easy to clean off of your windows once the road trip is over.
Crayola Doodle Board: The Double Doodle board is two sided. One side has a sealed gel surface for mess free doodling and tactile play and the other side is a reusable drawing surface for scribbling. It is great for traveling and is very sturdy and compact.
Books: Brayden is a big fan of books so packing a couple of his favorites is sure to help pass the time.
Snacks! You definitely CAN NOT FORGET the snacks! Some of our favorite dry car snacks are: goldfish, cheerios, popcorn, Cauliflower Stalks, pretzels, raisins, and apples.
We would love to hear about your road trip activities with your little ones! How do you pass the time on a road trip?
